House price cooling...

Bank of Ireland Chief Executive welcomes 'House price cooling'

House price cooling??? It's like an environmental feckin' event now is it???

Why don't the meeja ask Goggin what in point of fact, is causing this cooling... Is it in fact, the same thing that caused house price warming???

What was it they used to call it?

Oh yes, "dynamic" lending practices...

So Mr. Goggin, I put it to you, no matter how balanced media reporting should or should not be, what has caused house price "cooling" has in fact been a reverse by you and your colleagues with respect to your previously "dynamic" lending practices, which in turn was occasioned by interest rate increases and most importantly the whole shooting match was fed by an irrational speculative demand within the Irish housing market. Which you and your colleagues stoked and simply let run riot while you increased your salary and earnings performance.

No, I don't expect you'll make any more money this year, Mr. Goggin, but I fully don't expect your salary to go down either, Sir.

Maybe, you should avail of some of the bargains in the marketplace, buyers market and all that, just to ensure that house price "cooling" doesn't turn into a totally cataclysmic event, eh.

We could be entering the Irish Housing Ice Age.
